#klartext – What you should know about zoom webinars

Tomorrow we start with our new webinar series. Here’s a brief summary of how you can get started and what you need to keep in mind.

When exactly does it start?

Wednesday, February 23, at 11:00 a.m.

You can dial in before then and wait for it to start.
The webinar will run about 45-60 minutes, including a Q&A session.

Is this session in English?

No. This is a German webinar series. We will offer English sessions again in the near future.

How do I participate?

Are you already registered? If not, you still have until shortly before the start:

Register for free & without obligation: Webinar | 23.02.2022 | 11 a.m

If you are on the list of participants, you will receive the link to join on Tuesday evening.
The Zoom webinar will then be accessible from Wednesday, shortly before 11 am.

If you haven’t installed Zoom yet, you can do so in advance:

Will other Zoom participants see me?

No, the webinar only shows the presenters. Also the names are only visible for the presenters. Speech and images of all participants are not allowed. Questions can be asked at any time via the Q&A (Questions & Answers) box and will be taken up at the end of the webinar or answered along the way. Participants can request that their camera and also video be allowed if needed. Although this is not provided for, it is technically possible at any time

Can I participate without a Zoom client?

Yes, this works. Zoom recommends the client, but as a listener:in you only need to see the image and audio (not broadcast yourself), which means you can also use Zoom’s web client without hesitation.

To use the web version, you can:

  1. Open the link from the invitation in your browser
  2. Under the blue button an additional link “Join from Your Browser” is visible (fig.1)
  3. Accept the terms and conditions and enter your name (fig.2)
  4. Use the email address from your registration and the passcode from your invitation.
  5. Optionally you can allow access to your microphone and camera.
However, since you can also just listen and type questions into the Q&A box, this is not necessary.

Fig.2: Your name is not visible for other participants. Camera and microphone rights (top left) are optional.

Can I also participate by phone?

Theoretically yes. The invitation will include dial-in numbers for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Zoom also has many other international numbers. However, you will only be able to hear the audio on the phone. Presentation, videos, polls and the Q&A box are not available to you. We therefore advise you to use the browser or client.

I didn’t receive an invitation/link….

Links will be sent out on Tuesday evening around 5pm. It can take up to an hour for all emails to be sent from our web server. If there is nothing in the spam folder then either, please be sure to write to us at contact@linkthat.eu or give us a call.

Ready? We are looking forward to meeting you!
